Don King: All-American

You can’t beat Don King promoting a heavyweight fight. He's enthusiastic, charismatic and his vocabulary was in top form.

King, on hand for the promotion of the Oct. 6 fight between Oleg Maskaev and Samuel Peter at The Garden, arrived like a conquering hero. He posed for pictures with fans, talked on his cell phone for about 25 minutes and took time to speak to MSG.com.

Because of Peter’s late arrival, King had ample opportunity to meet the press in an informal setting and took full advantage. And low and behold, Al Sharpton is by his side. Talk about a couple of titans!

The combatants and promoters then took the stage, where Rev. Al spoke about how kids should avoid getting involved in street violence.

King and Sharpton were so good, that we almost forgot about the fighters! But here they are ... They'll let their fists do the real talking on Oct.6.
