The Knicks played well early, but in the end, the Celtics were just too tough Wednesday as the Celtics came away with a 111-103 win.

John Andariese and I explain why Boston is so difficult to hold down the entire game, even without Kevin Garnett.

In the first contest of a five-game western road trip, the Knicks lost to the Golden State Warriors, 106-104, last night.

Despite the defeat, New York did play well.

Kenny "The Jet" Smith and I discuss what we liked about the Knicks gutsy performance in a tough building to play in.

The Knicks had a different look Wednesday night in Orlando with a new starting lineup and rotation. It seemed to work for three quarters, but then the Knicks had trouble in the fourth and lost to the Magic, 110-96.

The Living Legend, Walt "Clyde" Frazier and I examine why New York had difficulty in the final quarter and also discuss some of the problems facing this Knicks team.

The Knicks played poorly early, and though they showed some fire in the second half, they came up short in a 105-95 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats Friday night.

John Andariese and I discuss the Knicks sluggish start and dissect what they did well in the later stages of the game.

After some tough words from coach Isiah Thomas, the Knicks responded by playing perhaps their best game of the season in a 108-90 pounding of the Cavs Wednesday night.

Clyde and I explain what the Knicks did so well in overwhelming LeBron James and the Cavaliers.

Knicks Courtside: Hard Fought Loss To Bulls

In their first game in back-to-back nights, the Knicks dropped a tough contest to the Bulls, 101-96, Friday night in Chicago.

Though they lost the game, Walt "Clyde" Frazier and I really liked the way a lot of the Knicks players contributed and feel that's something the team can build on.

Knicks Courtside: Durant Can Play

Seattle rookie Kevin Durant scored 30 points to lead his Sonics over the Knicks, 117-110, Wednesday night at The Garden.

Kenny "The Jet" Smith and I feel the Knicks played well, but they just couldn't stop Durant, who was extremely impressive in his first game in New York.

Knicks Courtside: In Need Of Second Half Kick

Posted on December 8, 2007 by Gus Johnson

Filed Under: David Lee , Gus Johnson , Jamal Crawford , Knicks Courtside , New York Knicks , Philadelphia 76ers , Walt Frazier

Despite strong showings by Jamal Crawford and David Lee, the Knicks added another road loss Friday night, falling to the Sixers, 101-90, in Philadelphia.

Walt Frazier and I feel the loss was due largely to a lackluster second half.

Knicks Courtside: Crawford's A Hero

Posted on November 30, 2007 by Gus Johnson

Filed Under: Gus Johnson , Jamal Crawford , Kenny Smith , Knicks Courtside , Milwaukee Bucks , NBA , New York Knicks

Things looked bad for the Knicks after a devastating loss to the Celtics Thursday and a less-than-stellar start in Friday's game against Milwaukee. The struggling Knicks mounted an impressive fourth quarter comeback, however, and defeated the Bucks, 91-88, in the final moments of the game.

Kenny "The Jet" Smith and I were impressed with Jamal Crawford's performance and believe the Knicks have finally begun to play with heart.

It's time for another vlog, so Jimmy Cavallo and I start chatting it up, talking about what we did for Thanksgiving and reading over some e-mails, and along comes Gus Johnson.

After Al Trautwig last week, everybody wants to get in on the fun. So Gus busts into my office and takes over for Jimmy. Check it all out in this three-part installment.

Here, Jimmy and I get it going by responding to some e-mails about 12-1 Monroe-Woodbury, NY.

Now that Gus gets involved, he and I discuss Stephon Marbury and recall his days as a standout at Lincoln High School.

Gus stuck around to reminisce about his own high school football and basketball glory days in Michigan.

Knicks Courtside: A Winning Combination?

Even though the Knicks were unsuccessful Friday night in Sacramento, Kenny "The Jet" Smith and I think that Isiah Thomas may have found a winning formula in the 123-118 loss to the Kings.

In the first game of their four-game western swing, the Knicks fell to the Phoenix Suns, 113-102, Tuesday night.

However, the score of the game is trumped by the news that Stephon Marbury was not with the club in Phoenix.

Kenny "The Jet" Smith and I discuss the unfortunate situation.

Update: Marbury is on his way to L.A. to join the Knicks for Wednesday's game against the Clippers.

The Knicks fell to the Orlando Magic 112-102 Friday night at The Garden.

And then, Nate Robinson was given the biggest gift, Summer League MVP Honors. Clyde and Gus Johnson congratulate Nate the Great:

Knicks Summer League: Desert Plans

The Knicks continue to look impressive out here in Vegas, improving to 3-0 during Summer League play, and that makes our time here even more enjoyable.

And while I don't mind coming in from the heat to call these victories, there's certainly so many other things to do when court isn't in session. My pal Gus Johnson and I were just talking about possibly visiting the Hoover Dam or maybe just relaxing by the pool:

Well, the Knicks opened their Summer League with a victory over the Sonics last night, and newest Knicks Wilson Chandler (12 points) and Demetris Nichols (13 points) definitely looked good out there.

And after all the excitement settled down on the floor, I had a nice chat with my vociferous colleague, Gus Johnson, about what we plan to do while here in Vegas:

And at halftime of the Knicks' 87-74 victory over the Sonics, Lee joined me for a court-side chat about his road back from injury and the upcoming season:
