When the temperature drops, the Rangers always step up. I'm not just talking about their on-ice performance -- although they seem to be in a bit of a rut right now -- but their charitable efforts.

Case in point ... On the latest episode of "Inside the Rangers," members of the Rangers Chill for a Cause in the spirit of holiday giving, by holding a coat drive on behalf of the Garden of Dreams Foundation.

As the Blueshirt faithful call for Neil's head, the Rangers must find a spark plug to replace Avery. Just ask The Maven his thoughts!

Just how much will Avery be missed? On the premiere episode of "Inside The Rangers," Michal Rozsival and Brendan Shanahan spoke about what it means to have Avery on their side.

WARNING: If you hate shameless plugs, skip this part and go right to the clip:
The next episode of "ITR" airs Oct. 18 at 6:00 p.m.  before the Rangers play Atlanta.
